I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
